Hybrid Dual Master of Social Work / Master of Education, Human Sexuality Studies (H/MSW/MEd)

In a unique collaboration, Widener University’s Center for Human Sexuality Studies and The Center for Social Work now offer an MSW/MEd dual degree. This is the only dual-degree program offering Clinical Social Work and a Human Sexuality focus, allowing you to pursue graduate education in both areas, with these advantages:

  • Prepare future and current professionals to teach, consult, provide counseling and therapy, and conduct research in a variety of settings on complex issues related to human sexuality.
  • Learn direct practice skills as well as strategies for creating social change
  • Upon completion of the dual degree students will be eligibile for the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) certification.
  • The MSW degree can be completed 100% online at your own convenience

Online Master of Social Work (MSW) prepares students to improve both their lives and the lives of others through clinical social work and social justice. Trauma is one of the leading causes in mental health challenges, substance abuse and other social-emotional issues that affect quality of life. Widener’s online MSW program helps students understand past trauma as a root cause and the effect it has on individuals, families, and communities.The program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and is offered completely online.

Hybrid Master of Education, Human Sexuality Studies (MEd) is the practitioner-level training for sexuality professionals and one of the only doctoral programs at a fully accredited university in the United States that offers human sexuality studies. The program trains professionals in the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary to work with individuals and groups around the numerous sensitive issues in human sexuality.
